I can’t think straight around them—the 2345 initiation

You cannot think straight around them. Your mind, which is ordinarily your refuge—the place where you know what you know and can trust your own instincts—becomes unreliable the moment they are in the room. You second-guess decisions you were certain about an hour before. You replay conversations looking for hidden meanings. You cannot settle into a single thought without it fracturing into doubt, and you know this is not how you normally are, and you know they are the reason, and you do not know how to stop it.

That scrambling is not a flaw in you. It is not a sign that you are meant to be with them, and it is not a sign that you are meant to be apart. It is the specific initiation that the 2345 shows up to do—and the 2345 does not leave you in the scrambling. It leaves you with something you cannot get any other way. But first you have to understand what is happening to your clarity, and why you cannot think your way out of it alone.

Two glasses of water

Picture two glasses of water sitting side by side on a table. One is still and clear—the light passes straight through it, and you can see all the way to the bottom. The other is being stirred constantly, by a hand you cannot entirely see. The water in it is cloudy, turbulent, full of suspended particles. If you tried to look through it to see the bottom, you could not. The motion itself is what creates the cloudiness; it is not dirt, it is disturbance.

Now imagine that one of those glasses is you—your clarity, your knowing, your ability to trust what you perceive. And the other glass is them. The stirring is not malice. It is simply their presence, their orbit around you, their way of being—which is different from your way, which moves differently, which requires a different kind of attention. The moment they come close, your clarity begins to cloud. Not because there is anything wrong with you. Because you are in motion now, and motion creates turbidity.

This is what the 2345 does. It scrambles you. And it does this as a gift, though it does not feel like one.

Why your mind cannot keep still around them

The 2345 is a number of initiation through mirroring—of seeing yourself reflected back in someone else’s eyes, and that reflection is not always the one you wanted to see. The other person becomes a living question mark, and questions destabilize certainty. You cannot think your way through what you cannot see clearly. When they are close, your glass is being stirred not by malice but by the simple fact of their differentness, their energy, their need, their way of moving through the world that does not match yours.

What makes this so disorienting is that you are accustomed to trusting your own clarity. You have built your life on it. You know how to make decisions when the water is still. But the 2345 does not allow that anymore—not while they are in your field. The stirring is constant. And the worse mistake you can make is to believe that if you just try harder, if you just love better, if you just understand them more deeply, you can make both glasses still at the same time. You cannot. The more you try to synchronize the stirring, the faster both glasses churn.

Meeting the initiation, and where to reach

What you need now is not clarity about them. You need clarity about you—the kind that can only come when you stop trying to settle them and settle yourself instead. This requires something that feels counterintuitive: you have to let your glass be cloudy for a while. Not forever. For now. You have to stop trying to see clearly through the turbulence and instead accept that you are in motion, and that is the condition you are working with.

This is where a good therapist, a trusted person who knows you deeply, or a spiritual guide becomes essential—not because anything is wrong with you, but because you need a witness who can see you clearly when you cannot see yourself. The feelings this stirs up are real, and they deserve real care, not spiritual bypassing. You need someone outside the mirror to remind you of your own solidity. And you need to build a practice of returning to stillness alone—not to fix the situation, but to remember who you are when no one is stirring your water. A daily practice where you are by yourself, where you can think, where your mind can settle. This is not selfish. This is the foundation.

The 2345 is not asking you to choose between clarity and connection. It is asking you to understand that your clarity belongs to you first, and connection comes from that foundation, never the other way around.

What runs through your mind What’s actually true
If I loved them enough, I would be able to think clearly around them. Love has nothing to do with it. You are reacting to a frequency that is different from yours. Clarity will come from knowing yourself, not from changing how you feel about them.
I must be doing something wrong if I’m this confused. You are having a normal human response to the initiation the 2345 brings. The confusion is the curriculum, not the failure.
If we were really meant to be together, this would not be this hard. The 2345 is about seeing yourself through another person’s eyes—and that process is always turbulent. Difficulty does not mean wrongness. It means depth is possible.
I need to figure out what they are thinking to know what to do next. You cannot see their interior clearly right now, and you do not need to. You need to see yours. Stop trying to read the stirred water and tend to your own glass first.

A little help, while you’re here

  • For the next three days, spend one hour alone in the morning before you see them or speak to them—no phone, no distraction, just you and a notebook or a walk. Write or think about what you know to be true about yourself when you are alone. Do this first, before anything else in your day.
  • Call or visit one person who sees you clearly and who is not involved in this situation—someone who knew you before, and who can remind you of your own solidity. Say out loud: ‘I need you to tell me who I am when I am not confused.’ Listen without defending.
  • The next time you are with them and you feel the scrambling, do not try to think your way out of it. Instead, feel your feet on the ground, your back against the chair, your breath in your body. You are not trying to fix the turbidity. You are remembering that you are still here, still real, still standing.

The glass settles first alone

The 2345 does not ask you to leave, and it does not ask you to stay. It asks you to know yourself first—to let your glass be still, all the way through, before you decide anything. And here is what I want you to understand: that stillness will come. Not because the other person will change. Because you will stop trying to manage the stirring, and in that release, your own clarity will return. It will not return while you are fighting. It will return while you are still.

Your clarity is not gone. It is obscured. And the only hand that can stop the stirring of your own water is yours. Not theirs. Yours. When you do that—when you release the grip, when you let yourself be separate, when you fill your own glass and tend only to that—something extraordinary happens. The other person’s turbulence becomes visible for what it actually is: their own journey, their own initiation, their own water to tend. And you are free to see them clearly at last, not because they have changed, but because you have stopped trying to change the reflection to prove something about yourself.

That is where the 2345 takes you. To a place where you know who you are when no one is watching. And from that ground, every choice becomes possible—to stay, to go, to love differently, to let go. You will know because you will be able to think again. Not because the water is still. Because you have learned to hear your own voice underneath the motion. Stillness is not the answer. Your own voice is. And it has been there the whole time.
